Srirangam Location



Srirangam is called as Bhoolokha Vaikundam - means Heaven in Earth.
First of the 108 Divyadesams sung by AAshwaars.
Holiest Place for Vaishnavites and Bagawaan Raamanujam recreator of  Vaisnavism, lived here for a long period and His Jeeva samathi is said to be in Ramaanuja Sannathi in the Outest Prahaaram of the Ranganathar Temple. It is believed He is Blessing his devotees from here and nails/hairs  in the Ramanuja diety is believed growing even now. The Biggest Temple in south India with the City within the Four Rajagopurams of the Temple. 
Even  50 years before,  the city is limited within the Four Prahaarams.
There is very retsricted growth outside the temple campus. Now the Growth of the town is beyond limit and
the present Srirangam Taluk spread from Cauvery Bridge /part of Trichy Town upto 20 kilometers in Trichy Dindigul Road - Chatrapatty village.
In between Cauvery & Kollidam the Srirangam situated on the Trichy to Chennai National Highway.Frequently Connected to Chennai,Bangalore and Southern parts of the Tamilnadu by Bus - Both Government & Private Omni Buses.
Srirangam is also connected frequently by Trains to Chennai & deep South and also to Northern Parts of the Country.
